1 ½ cups elbow pasta

1 cup water

½ cup heavy cream

4 oz sharp cheddar shredded

4 oz grated parmesan

4 oz shredded mozzarella

¼ tsp kosher salt

1/2 tsp fresh black pepper

Tip: swap out the water for milk for a creamier result

Garlic Breadcrumbs

1 cup breadcrumbs

1 tablespoon of finely chopped parsley

2 large garlic cloves minced

1 tbsp of EVOO

½ tsp. red chili pepper flakes (optional)

  1. Mix the sharp cheddar, grated parmesan, and shredded mozzarella in a medium sized bowl.
  2. Combine elbow pasta, water, cream, salt, pepper and half the cheese mixture in the air fryer baking pan accessory or a 7-inch oven proof pan. Stir the mixture together than place baking dish into the airfryer basket and slide into the airfryer.
  3. Set air fryer to 350 for 14 minutes.
  4. Halfway through process, (at 7 minutes) pause cooking, remove basket, stir, then put back into the airfryer.
  5. At the end of the cooking time, remove the basket, stir in the remaining cheese mixture until fully incorporated.
  6. Set air fryer to 375 for 7 minutes.
  7. Meanwhile, prepare breadcrumb topping. Combine breadcrumbs, parsley garlic and olive oil in small bowl and mix with your fingers, until moistened with oil.
  8. Once cooking time ends, remove the basket and cover mac and cheese evenly with breadcrumb mixture. Place back in air fryer and set at 400 for 4 minutes until nice, golden and bubbly. Remove basket and let mac and cheese rest and cool a few minutes before serving.
